June 2026 RV Manufacturer Recalls: 7 Recalls Involving 6 RV Manufacturers — Is Your RV on the List?

NHTSA announced seven RV safety recalls during June 2026 affecting thousands of motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels from six manufacturers. Find out if your Forest River, Keystone, Alliance, Winnebago, Storyteller, or Airstream RV is included and learn what owners should do next.

Before you hitch up or pull out of the campground, it’s worth taking a few minutes to check whether your RV has been recalled. A manufacturer safety recall may involve defects that increase the risk of fire, loss of vehicle control, equipment failure, or other hazards that could put you and your passengers at risk.

The latest recalls issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) affect thousands of motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels from six RV manufacturers. If your RV is included, the manufacturer is required to repair the safety defect at no cost to you through an authorized dealer.

Below is a roundup of the seven RV recalls announced during June 2026. Check the list carefully to see if your RV is affected before your next trip. A few minutes today could prevent a breakdown—or something far more serious—tomorrow.

What is an RV recall?

Find out if your RV is affected

It’s important to stay up to date on RV safety recalls, even when the reported issue appears minor. A small defect can become a serious safety hazard if left unaddressed. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) publishes new recall notices each week with the latest list typically released every Monday.

A recall is issued when either the manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a recreational vehicle or a piece of RV equipment contains a safety-related defect or fails to meet federal motor vehicle safety standards. By law, the manufacturer must correct the problem at no cost to the owner.

Once a recall is announced, the manufacturer notifies its dealer network and provides details about the affected RVs, the nature of the safety defect, and the approved repair procedure. Owners of affected vehicles are then notified and instructed on how to have the repair completed.

It’s important to remember that NHTSA safety recalls address issues that could affect the safe operation of an RV. They are not issued for general quality or warranty concerns, such as an air conditioner that doesn’t cool properly or a slide-out that won’t extend, unless those problems also create a safety risk.

Common types of RV recalls

The three most common sources of RV safety recalls

Most RV safety recalls fall into one of three categories: the RV manufacturer, the motorhome chassis manufacturer, or a third-party component supplier.

RV manufacturer recalls are the most common. Companies such as Forest River, Thor Industries, Winnebago Industries, and REV Group may issue recalls involving the RV’s structure, electrical system, propane system, plumbing, slide-outs, or other factory-installed components.

Motorhome chassis recalls affect the vehicle itself rather than the RV living area. Chassis manufacturers including Ford, Chevrolet, Mercedes-Benz, and Freightliner may issue recalls involving the engine, steering, brakes, suspension, transmission, or other drivetrain and safety systems.

Third-party supplier recalls involve components installed by the RV manufacturer but built by outside suppliers. These recalls may include water heaters, furnaces, refrigerators, air conditioners, cooktops, awnings, windows, entry doors, or other equipment used across multiple RV brands.

Regardless of who issues the recall, it’s important to have the repair completed as soon as possible. Recall repairs are performed at no cost to the owner and addressing a safety defect promptly helps protect you, your passengers, and your RV while traveling.

Register your RV with NHTSA

Get notified as soon as a recall is issued

One of the easiest ways to stay informed about RV safety recalls is to register for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) Recall Notification Email System. Once enrolled, you’ll receive email alerts when a safety recall is issued for your RV or one of its major components.

Getting notified early means you can schedule repairs before a minor defect becomes a serious safety concern—and recall repairs are provided at no cost to the owner.
